  • Certified Interpretive Guide (National Association of Interpretation)
  • Wilderness First Responder (NOLS Wilderness Medicine)
  • USA Archery Level 1 Instructor

Evan’s love and yearning for the wild began at the age of six in the prairies of north central Florida when he witnessed the wonders of seeing baby alligators hatch and wild horses roam. The rest of his childhood continued to build this wild child through fossil hunting, tree climbing, and general mischief.

After high school, Evan set out to hike the entire length of the Appalachian Trail by following the Appalachian Mountains from Georgia to Maine. While he got off after two months and six hundred miles later, Evan continued the path of learning and adventure through hitch hiking and working on farms. His love for foraging and farming led him to explore all throughout the United States and even Latin America.

Through his growth as a naturalist, Evan has worked as a farmhand, conservationist, guide, and now an informal educator.
